What NAD+ is
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme found in every living cell. It carries electrons in the reactions that release usable energy from food, and several families of enzymes involved in DNA repair and cell signaling depend on it.
What the evidence shows
This core biology is well established and not in dispute. Small human trials also show that oral NAD+ precursors are generally well tolerated at studied doses and can raise measured NAD+ levels in blood.
What the evidence does not establish
Research has not yet shown that raising NAD+ produces lasting improvements in energy, focus, performance, or aging in healthy adults. A change in a lab measurement is not the same as a person improving.
